Founded by textile artist, farmer, and natural dyer Kenya Miles, Blue Light Junction is an independently run studio, committed to uplifting the techniques and work of cultural practitioners of natural dyes as well as collectively growing and grounding our work in Baltimore City.

Blue Light Junction invites you for an evening of art and community.
From 5 to 9 pm, we will open our doors. We hope you can join us!

Collective dyeing for our Community Quilting Project.
Visit the natural dye studio downstairs for a free activity from 6-8 pm. Engage in Blue Light Junction's collective dyeing for our Community Quilting Project, where you can participate and help dye the quilt pieces that are part of an ongoing communal quilt.

Open Studios & Concept Store
Head to the 2nd floor to visit the BLJ The Alternative Library & Concept Store, featuring a curated collection of storied objects that honor a variety of expressions in contemporary and traditional crafts.

La Loupe studio will be showcasing their lighting collections along with some new art pieces by Marco Duenas, from 5 to 9 pm, and Artist Brian Suryah will have an open studio from 5 to 7:30 pm.

Blue Light Junction is a heritage project focused on growing, processing and preserving natural dyes through their histories, traditions, enhancements and use in everyday objects.

Located in Central Baltimore’s Station North/Greenmount neighborhood, Blue Light Junction operate as an alternative color lab, educational facility and gathering space. The studio also steward the annex of Hidden Harvests “Natural Dye Garden” , located next to the studio where we cultivate and host a variety of dye and medicinal plants.
