Itajime Shibori Workshop
Artist in Residence, Bakari Akinyele, will be leading an educational workshop on Itajime shibori. Itajime is a woodblock resist dyeing technique in which a folded textile is placed in between two wood blocks in order to resist the dye. The result is a pattern created by the folding of the fabric and the woodblocks. For this workshop attendees will receive their own handkerchief and create their own Itajime shibori dyed piece.
There is no registration fee, this is an offering to our community.
