Imprint and Inheritance: A Textile Lab w/Sunaina Bhalla

Woodblock printing carries centuries of history across India and China — pattern, imagery, and richly printed surfaces built one block at a time. Singapore-based textile artist Sunaina Bhalla joins the studio to share that history and the tools behind it, working from a collection of more than 150 hand-carved motifs.

Participants will begin experimenting and learning how pressure, placement, repetition, and color can transform a single motif into a larger pattern or composition.
